Gord Christmas
Chief Technology Officer
As Chief Technology Officer, Gord oversees the technical aspects of every project northStudio undertakes; his involvement spans from inception to completion. Described by Dieter as a “rocket scientist”, Gord has the unique ability to see a project with a bird’s eye view—his programming background allows him to account for all of the development options available and architect websites in the most efficient and scalable fashion. He has a hand in everything from determining a project’s technical scope to reviewing code to managing client relations.
In addition to his razor sharp intelligence, Gord is a very creative individual. He is amazing at creating solutions that are “outside of the box”, and he is also creative in the literal sense of fabrication (being mechanically good with his hands, he enjoys making things).
Gord’s whirring mind always needs to be occupied, and he thrives in situations where he is continually learning something new, which is an aspect of working at northStudio that he loves. For Gord, “routine is a bane”, so the chance to work on northStudio’s diverse projects in such a dynamic work environment is a definite coup. Gord also enjoys our team’s tenacious “get it done” attitude. This flexibility gives us the creative freedom to innovate the best solutions and allows a project to evolve organically, instead of being rigidly tethered to a plan or impeded by corporate protocol.
On the weekends, you can find Gord continuing to create things. He also loves the ocean and loves being in nature. As he puts it, over all, he is someone who “finds peace in chaos.”
"Oh Drupal Guru…. I still seek a question to stump you with." –Anne Stefanyk
"I like working with Gord because if you're ever curious about the newest (Apple) gadget or gizmo, and want to get your hands on it to try it before you buy it, it's a safe bet that Gord already has it." –Ryan James
