Content / Image / Inventory management

Using a simple, browser-based interface, (that is, any computer anywhere in the world, with an internet connection) you can publish content modules such as stories, blogs, polls, images, forums, downloads, etc. You can choose from multiple theme templates or create your own, to give your site a singular look and feel. Drupal’s flexible classification system allows for hierarchical classifications, cross-indexing of posts, and multiple category sets for most content types. Access to site content is controlled by defined user permission user IDs and passwords. Site pages can display posts by module type or categorized content, with separate RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds available for each display type. Users can also keyword-search the entire site.

Weblogs

A separate Drupal installation can be configured to support your own personal weblog, or it can be configured to support multiple, yet individual weblogs for your colleagues, friends, or family members. Drupal supports the Blogger API (Application Programming Interface), provides RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds for each individual blog, and can be set to “ping” weblog directories such as blogs when new content is posted on your home page.

Discussion-based community.

A Drupal site can act as a Slashdot-like news site and/or like a traditional discussion forum. Comment boards, attached to most content types, make it simple for members to discuss new posts. Administrators can control whether a site’s content and comments are posted without approval, with only administrator approval, or by community moderation. The project module used for managing the construction of Drupal supports other open source software projects. The wiki-like collaborative book module, for example, includes versioning control, which makes it simple for a group of users to create, revise and maintain documentation or any other type of text by saving earlier versions of a specific document while allowing subsequent changes to be made, so that the document can be updated without any of the earlier versions being permanently lost.
